✈️ PC ORCHESTRA RECOGNIZED BY WARR ACRES MAYOR The Putnam City High School Orchestra was recognized by Warr Acres Mayor Roger Goodwin at this week's City Council meeting for their historic trip to London for the New Year Day Parade and Festival. We are still bursting with pride for how well all of the orchestra and band students across the District represented Putnam City and Oklahoma! Thank you, Mayor Goodwin, for recognizing these talented and dedicated students, teachers, and family members.

⭐️ Putnam City Schools Museum 2024 Lifetime Service Award ⭐️ This award was honorably celebrated last night as these recipients shared just what Putnam City Schools means to them personally. Nothing but ribbons of pure care and love for Putnam City District wrapped the box that was the anecdotes ensuring the right decision was made for this award! 🔵 Jean Mullican She and her husband moved into the Putnam City school district in 1974. They bought a home in the Tulakes Elementary School area where their children went. When school began, Jean and Lee proudly joined PTA. She was elected PTA president in 1976, presiding over monthly meetings of representatives from all 27 Putnam City Schools PTA units. After resigning from President, she remained a devoted volunteer at Hefner Junior High School, Central Junior High School and Putnam City High School. Her volunteerism has continued even after her children graduated as proud Pirates of Putnam City High School. 🟠Alice Story This posthumous award was accepted by her pride-filled family pictured below. Alice Story was an amazing teacher, friend and aunt. Her career at Windsor Hills Elementary began in the fall of 1962 and continued, without a break, until Spring 2013 — a staggering 52 years! After she retired, she continued to volunteer at WHE until her death in 2019. To recognize her passion for educating children, a butterfly garden was dedicated to her by Windsor Hills Elementary. 🟡Jayne Miller Manley Jayne attended Putnam City High School and graduated in 1961. She never really left. For approximately 15 years, she has contributed her efforts and happy personality to the Putnam City High School Alumni Association, especially during reunion weekends. She helps set up the auditorium for the event and performs any number of tasks to help ensure things run smoothly. She also works with the Putnam City Schools Museum, attending meetings and contributing her time wherever she might be needed.

🧶 The PCN Crochet Club and FCCLA teamed up to hand-make innovative and sustainable blankets! They completed 5 blankets and donated them to the City Of Warr Acres Police Department to be distributed, as needed, to unhoused individuals. These blankets were made out of donated plastic bags, and they are perfect for providing needed insulation and waterproofing. We are so proud of our Panthers for their creativity and heart for having an impact on our local community.

#StudentSuccess: Overholser Elementary - Putnam City hosted the annual Putnam City Schools PEAK Math 24 Tournament for elementary programs across the District! Learning mixed with a little friendly competition has never hurt anyone. In fact, we believe it inspires our students' full potential.

💬 Join us for Poetry Night! It all happens Thursday, February 22nd at Western Oaks Middle School. All students, families, and teachers are welcome to take part in this districtwide event with Poetry and Chill OKC. There will also be an open mic session! See you there! 🎤

🚔 We would like to take this opportunity to highlight two of our Putnam City Campus Police Officers who recently carried out a heroic deed while off duty. Officers Spencer and DeBelly were working out at a local gym when they noticed a female face down and unresponsive on gym equipment. Officer Spencer began to assess the situation and care for the female while Officer DeBelly retrieved medical equipment from Spencer's vehicle. While assessing and caring for the female, she stopped breathing and had no pulse. Officer Spencer immediately began life-saving CPR until paramedics arrived on the scene and transported her to the hospital. At last check, the female is alive and recovering. We are beyond proud of Officer Spencer and Officer DeBelly for their heroic act to save this woman's life. Thank you for choosing Putnam City Schools, and for protecting our students, staff, campuses, and local community - on duty and off duty. 💙

#PCStudentSuccess: The Thunder Book Bus took its turn today at Tulakes Elementary helping these tiny scholars explore worlds beyond their own, one page at a time! 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨! Victoria Nwankwo of Putnam City North High School is one of only two delegates to represent Oklahoma in Washington, D.C. at the United States Senate Youth Program in March! Victoria will also receive a college scholarship as part of this program. #GoBoldly

𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨! 🛫 Putnam City High School Air Force JROTC cadet, Ryan Wall, has been selected for the 2024 AFJROTC Flight Academy! Ryan will travel this summer for the 2 month academy and upon completion, he'll have his private pilot's license! 💡Fun fact - Ryan is the 9th PC High pilot in the last 6 years to be selected for this prestigious academy, and his brother got the same scholarship 2 years go!

From the classroom to the court, teachers and students of Overholser Elementary - Putnam City rally together for physical health. They bump, set, and spike their way to a fun and active day before Winter Break to remind students to stay active and healthy!

🎶 Caroling, but string instrument style! Western Oaks Middle School 8th Grade Orchestra went caroling in the District right before winter break to spread some holiday cheer. 🎻 We always love when they stop by the Admin building! 🎄

🚌 Our bus drivers are AMAZING! 🤩 Many of them took their own time and money to decorate their buses for the holidays and they looked great. 🎄 The PCESP had a fun contest and the winners seen in the photo got gift cards! Thank you, Transportation, for going above and beyond for our Putnam City students and families! 💛
